The Roads to Hell and Heaven

I see a road so long and straight

A path so dark and wide

That many walk without remorse

And even walk with pride

The path descends into a cave

A tunnel black as night

And they are lost that walk this way

They have left behind the light

If they had known just where it leads

They would have turned before

Yet they ignoring Jesus’ pleas

To knock upon his door

For many have been shown that place

That burns eternally

A pit as deep and dark as space

Where none who die can flee

The demons torture and torment

Those who have fallen on this path

Once in this place none can repent

And must endure the Devil’s laugh

The angels cry along the road

“Turn back and seek the Lord

His path is light and beautiful

His way a flaming sword

Just seek the truth

The only way

And his life will be a blessing

Just love and serve and praise and pray

And come to heaven’s dressing

There you will be clothed alone in light

A guest at God’s own table

And you will have eternal life

Through Jesus Christ enabled.”

So always walk the path that’s in the light

Lit by the lamp of truth

And it will lead to God’s delight

His love and only proof

And that is Jesus Christ his son

Who waits for you in glory

Where life eternal has begun

But that’s a whole new story
