A PAGE TURNER – 5 stars

This is one of the best fantasy books I have read for a long time…. It draws you in and is a page turner. I could not put this down and finished it in a day. Can’t wait for more like this from this author.

AWESOME STORY – 4 stars

THE REALM OF THE PURPLE DRAGON by Laura Crean with 277 pages.

This was a fantastic fantasy book that brought reality into the realm of the imagination. It was fun, laughable, and a great read. A wonderful story that never became dull. It is a super great book for YA and for anyone who wants to remember what it is like to be young.

‘Tall Tales for Children’ Eastbourne Book Festival 2014

On the 30th May, the last day of the school holiday, I took my children and my Mum down to Gildredge Park in Eastbourne. It is a beautiful park and just on the edge of this pretty little green oasis in Old Town Eastbourne sits a charming little tennis club and cafe. This was the setting for this year’s Eastbourne Book Fest’s ‘Tall Tales for Children’ event.

The children popped in and out of the cafe’s play area throughout the morning and we had a lovely time with stories, puppets, playing games and singing songs. I loved the way some of the younger children’s older brothers and sisters got involved with the toddler story time as well as listening to the stories for their own age range.
