Day 29 NaPoWriMo – Corporatocracy (follow the money…)

Energy, energy everywhere

Free for all to tap

But most of the Earth is unaware

That few control the cap

The Earth is just a system

That exists in an infinite loop

Nature has this shape as its totem

The micro and the macro too

And yet my energy bills

Continue to expand

Money into someone else’s tills

And constantly out of my hands…

What is the nature of the human experience?

What is life supposed to be?

Is it to strive for personal freedoms

such as the right to be creative, reach our full potential and live in dignity?

How can we preserve such a way of life

and still be free and sane

when corporations rule “the system”?

They seem to have everything to gain,

while reducing the human experience to commerce –

which can only lead to pain!

It seems that corporates run the world economy

through corruption and control,

they bribe our politicians –

but this is legal “lobbying” and “political gifts”

we all are told.

And the laws enforce this system

through misguided commercial red tape,

how can we change this polluted perception?

Humanity needs to re-evaluate!

Revolution can only come through evolution

in the consciousness of every heart,

we need transparent political systems

free from “division” and “corruption” for a  start.

The world needs to run in “truth” and “unity”

not “the system” versus life itself!

There are so many crimes against humanity

affecting our global health.

From food toxins and pollution

and wars and terrorists now running rife,

to genetically modified mutant crops – nice!

–       nobody knows what is safe to “consume”.

Then there are the crises with fuel and our water

and the ozone will be gone all too soon!

But the people are afraid to question authority

because their freedoms are already worn down,

“freedom of speech” is no longer policy

and will lead to the speaker becoming criminalized

by their government, state or crown.

The trouble is we can’t fix the problem

until we really know what the problem is

and so the world needs a brand new awareness

of the “programming” that gives power to this social disease.

But the truth is that this reality is but a reflection

of ourselves – each of us in turn

and the barriers are our own constructions

that we must remove if we are to learn

that freedom for the human experience

is through integrity and in respect,

integrity in each of our actions

and respect for ourselves – and not to neglect

to speak up and be a part of our community

because it’s not “the system” we all have to fight.

The doorway to human transformation

Is through forgiveness, compassion and Light!

Day 28 NaPoWriMo – The Age of Innocence

Published April 28, 2013 by Laura Crean Author

Holding the World in an Open Hand by Laura Crean

Once the Earth was young and green and pure.

Nature danced in blissful youth.

The sun warmed the seas and seasons were sure

that summer would be long and proof

that winter held a short spell over the world.

And for an age there was a peaceful ignorance

amongst the children of the Earth,

who knew nothing of blood or fear or vengeance.

They knew only life, love, death and rebirth.

What stole the age of innocence away?

What power cast its evil spell?

What led the children far from play

and on into the influence of Hell?

Jealousy and Greed and fear and loss,

invented by a bitter heart,

that taunted and seduced humanity and cost

our children’s future for a start.

Will an age of innocence return

and give the Earth another chance for freedom?

It is a distant hope and dream to yearn

for a new and better chance to live in God’s great Kingdom.

Day 27 NaPoWriMo – Failure

ripped canvas by Laura Crean

ripped canvas by Laura Crean

Failure feels like a fight you can’t win

and burns with a mind of its own

and fear fuels the fire and strips your soul thin

until all the hope that you once had has gone.

Some people just seem to live life on a whim

and everything falls into place

but failure leads to life stretched out like skin

pulled tight on the frame of a drum

until it is pounded so hard that it splits

and renders it useless and numb

or a canvas that’s ripped

the picture now torn

the tattered piece marring the scene,

a beautiful masterpiece battered and worn

now a semblance of what once had been.

How can a life climb back out of the pit

when failure has dragged it so low?

When a spirit is broken and doesn’t feel fit

where is the next place to go?

Failure is but a bump on the road,

so you trip up once in a while – that’s fine,

just craft a new drum and beat out a new code,

a rhythm to keep you in time.

Soon all your failures will be lost to the wind,

the fire burned out and now cold,

there is always a canvas blank and unsigned,

a new masterpiece waits to unfold.

Day 26 National Poetry Writing Month – Higher, faster, clearer, closer…

ImageHigher, faster, clearer, closer,

Forever, braver, never, falser,

Remembering, drifting, learning, listening,

Shifting, yearning, basking, turning,

Immersed, exposed, accepted, awakened,

Dazzled, dazed, daunted, tempted,

Deeper, slower, hazier, further…

Day 25 NaPoWrMo – Echoes of Time

Published April 25, 2013 by Laura Crean Author

What is this shade that shifts its shape

and casts a shallow shadow?

It hides in shattered shards of shame

in places we can’t follow.

It is but merely echoing

a world of myth and mire

a place that none may leave a trace

of molten fear and fire.

What is this orb that flits and floats

and glows its gentle path?

It shows itself to those that care

for some that is enough.

Occasionally the spirits meeting

briefly see a scene sublime

It is a momentary fleeting

glimpse of the end of time.
