Happy New Year – here’s to World Peace!

‘Time is relative to your own point of view’

So here we are!  I wasn’t sure if we were going to make it, it’s been a hard slog and for a lot of people 2012 has been a difficult year, me included, but in a few hours we will be ringing in the new year, despite half the planet thinking we were going to bite the dust on the 21st December.

In fact the Mayans celebrated a new cycle in their long count calender and that has got to be a cause for a party.  2013 it seems is a very special year, a year of a major re-birth, a ‘new world’ to the Mayans!  So let’s drink to a bright new dawn, a new era of humanity starting in 2013, may it be a blessed year for everyone and bring peace, an end to suffering and the start of a global awakening to what mankind can truly be if we all pull together and start thinking like one planet instead of warring, separate, economically unstable nations competing for…what?  Space?  Air? water?  Land?  Natural resources?  For Goodness sake, let’s get over ourselves and start saving the planet and it’s people instead of killing it!

2013 for me represents another chance for governments to get it right and us, the little people, to become a little more loving, a little more giving and wake up to the beauty of planet Earth.  Happy New Year everyone and may my optimism for World Peace rub off on all of you.

Love, Light, Blessings and Peace to you all

A Poetic thought for the Season – Dec 2012

Published December 20, 2012 by Laura Crean Author

There is one season in the year

when people try and find some cheer,

they wrap up warm with scarves that flow

and hearts as well as noses glow.

Some share with gifts and some with time

but all with love and maybe wine!

So when you raise a glass in toast

to wish all well from coast to coast,

just stop and think of those less blessed

whose lives are hard and full of stress,

when money’s tight and food is scarce

or loved ones have been lost – send prayers –

that is a gift any soul can give,

wherever in the World you live.

Be thankful if you have your health

and if you can spread out your wealth

to help those in need this time of the year

who have to live in dread and fear.

Let’s light a candle with a wish

or cook an extra warming dish

for a neighbour on their own

or talk to someone on the phone.

Whatever little bit you do,

your love and light will shine on through

and then this season will continue to be

full of fun and festivity.

It’s Christmas, so what you going to do? Read, read and read some more…

So, it is the season of good will – everyone is on shopping overdrive, buying gifts, decorations and food and drink, spending too much and stressing too much.  People are visiting family they haven’t seen all year and sending cards to family they never see, everything seems to be on fast forward!  Well I say, this is the perfect time to stop, take a deep breath, have a good look around at all the madness and then sit down in a quiet corner and read – read anything, whatever takes you to that place of dreams and brings you a little escapism from the rat race for an hour or two and then read some more, get a little perspective in your world of how precious your time is, and how wasteful we can be with it.  Spend time with yourself as well as with your family and friends so that you can reconnect with yourself and then when you have put the book down or turned the kindle off, take another deep breath and then get back in the rat race for the rest of the silly season, and maybe, just maybe you will have found within yourself a new respect for the power of the written word to help you wake up in time for 2013.

This is a cool site, it has lots of free reads for a quiet spell:-

And this is the perfect place to fan all your favourite authors, share and recommend books, post reviews and learn about different authors, as well as making friends and seeing what they like to read.  Don’t forget to friend me or fan me or both:-

Happy Holidays everyone and don’t forget to read, read and read some more…

Love, Light, and Seasonal Blessings
