‘Truth’ – a Fickle finger – be careful where you point it!

Published September 8, 2014 by Laura Crean Author

Today I am beginning to explore the English language as I prepare to go back to school and study the beauty and art of its form – (I’m taking an English Language A level – gulp!)

As I followed all the twists and turns of the www. Super Highway, I stumbled across the college blog – http://parklanguage.blogspot.co.uk/ – and I loved this little poetic view of ‘truth’ by Emily Dickinson so much, I thought I would share it.

Emily Dickinson

“Tell all the Truth but tell it slant –
Success in Circuit lies
Too bright for our infirm Delight
The Truth’s superb surprise
As Lightning to the Children eased
With explanation kind
The Truth must dazzle gradually
Or every man be blind -”

Ahhh! Truth – that fickle finger of fact that has such a habit of bruising the heart or stroking the soul. Be careful where you point that finger people!

On with my journey…
